CONVERSATIONAL AGENTS ON WHATSAPP
This policy explains what personal data Urania processes when it operates conversational agents (automated assistants) on Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform and on web support portals, on behalf of the businesses that hire the service. It is specific to that service; the site's general legal notice is at legal.html.
Urania acts as a technology provider. When someone messages a client business's WhatsApp number, that business is the data controller for the conversation and Urania processes it on the business's behalf and instructions, solely to provide the service. Urania does not use those conversations for its own purposes.
When you chat with an agent operated by Urania, we process:
Audio, images, documents and locations are not processed. If such a message arrives, the system records only that it arrived and its type, and the agent asks you to rewrite it as text. We neither request nor store card details, passwords or sensitive data; please do not send them through this channel.
Onboarding of a client business. When the person representing the business connects its WhatsApp Business Account, Meta provides us with their name and the public identifier of their Facebook account, together with the identifiers of the WhatsApp Business Account and of the phone number. We use these to know who authorized the connection and to operate the service; we do not use them for advertising, nor do we combine them with the content of conversations.
The data is not used for advertising, no advertising profiles are built, and it is never sold or transferred to third parties beyond the necessary providers listed in section 4.
The following providers are involved in delivering the service:
These providers operate servers outside Argentina (Meta and Anthropic mainly in the United States; storage in Brazil), so there is an international transfer of data inherent to the use of WhatsApp, of the language model and of the hosting infrastructure. Those transfers are governed by the data processing agreements Urania has with each provider. Data may also be disclosed where required by a competent authority or applicable law.
Conversations are stored on a server managed by Urania on Hostinger infrastructure, in a datacenter located in Brazil, with access restricted to the staff who operate the service. Communications with WhatsApp, with the language model and with the web portal are always encrypted in transit (TLS/HTTPS).
Retention period: 12 months from the last message. After that, message content and conversation history are deleted automatically and permanently. The context the agent uses to reply is reset much earlier: after 24 hours of inactivity.
Under Argentina's Personal Data Protection Act (Law 25.326), you may request access, rectification, updating or deletion of your data. Send the request to the business you were chatting with, or directly to contacto@urania.vision, stating the phone number you wrote from. We reply within the statutory deadlines and free of charge.
To stop receiving messages from the agent, reply BAJA (or ask in the conversation); you can also block the number in WhatsApp.
Argentina's Agencia de Acceso a la Información Pública, as the supervisory authority for Law 25.326, is empowered to handle complaints regarding non-compliance with personal data protection rules.
The service is intended for commercial support of adults and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from minors; if a conversation is found to belong to a minor without the consent of their legal guardian, it is deleted on request.
If the service changes in a way that affects data processing, this page is updated and the date in the footer changes. We recommend reviewing it periodically.
